Thanks to everyone for their comments. This photos in the left are all of the subject as she has grown up. The subject is my daughter who enjoys modeling (www.fishknits.com) and musical theater. I felt very rushed to submit this photo and realize I should have retaken the shot to straighten out the camera and eliminate the glare in the background. Thanks again for your comments.

I htink the bg is a bit busy but still a really good pic

Beautiful - boy where do those years go?
04/27/2002 03:57:00 PM
Nice idea, but I feel you could have done more with the image. Focus on both aspects, childhood and adulthood, well achieved.
04/27/2002 01:16:00 PM
the toys in the background contrast well with the make-up
04/27/2002 11:42:00 AM
Good idea for transition. Not sure if the pictures on the left side of the mirror help. Are they the same girl? They distract my eye from the right side of the frame where the real evidence of youth is illustrated by dolls once played with.

really nice contrast of all the little girl toys ion the background. However, all the stuff is almost too distracting. A little tighter on just her face and the toys would have been good.
04/26/2002 02:53:00 PM
good clarity, great transition!
04/26/2002 02:48:00 PM
Life is a continuous transition, so a chronilogical array of a vibrant young ladies growth is right on. Hard to find anything but a living being to show transition in progress better.

The bittersweet transition of life. Nice photo. Forget the challenge. This is a photo to treasure for a lifetime.

04/24/2002 02:27:00 PM
I like the way you show a transition with the pictures on the mirror. Doing the make-up even adds an other transition. Very good composition too.
04/24/2002 12:35:00 PM
not only is this about makeup, it feelis like the transition from youth to adulthood, it's 2 in 1! :) the cameras tilted to the right, though.

reaLLY CUTE. good sharpness, colors. framing is off though. i would have preferred to not see the left side pics cut off. but you aren't 3! : P

From baby to Barbie to "What a Babe!". This pic tells quite a story, and is an interesting take on the theme, Transitions. Nice composition.

I have two teenage daughter and boy can I relate. Nice Job!
04/23/2002 01:04:00 PM
The pictures on the mirror may be a little distracting. The make on the bottom is fitting though. Maybe move the girl over and crop it tighter next time?
04/23/2002 08:18:00 AM
very poignant and well done
04/23/2002 04:21:00 AM
Awwwww, how sad. I like the way this was set up, the barbie dolls in the background, the new grown up in the foreground...... Nice and clear
04/22/2002 09:08:00 PM
very nice idea, the pictures should have been more of a focal point and more in focus
04/22/2002 08:48:00 PM
The pictures on the side of the mirror doesn't look like the girl in the mirror. Would be more effect had the pictures been of the girl at different ages.
04/22/2002 08:29:00 PM
So yer gettin ready to go out huh?
04/22/2002 07:56:00 PM
nice shot
04/22/2002 07:23:00 PM
I see two transitions here. One...little girl to teenager and two...No makeup to dress up. cool
04/22/2002 03:28:00 PM
I get it ... little girl growing (all grown) up.
04/22/2002 02:43:00 PM
kids, they do that.......grow up!! I like the shot.
04/22/2002 01:27:00 PM
i like this idea, very well done.
04/22/2002 01:25:00 PM
Very nice. One of my ten best.
04/22/2002 12:32:00 PM
good job! made me smile. hmm...to be three again. :)
04/22/2002 11:48:00 AM
Very good photo, title really brings it together. Good contrast of young-lady elements in the forground, little-girl elements in the background. Only downside is it is a bit busy.
04/22/2002 10:58:00 AM
I think I get it
04/22/2002 10:23:00 AM
the pictures tell the story well. Nicely framed too. The mirror in the background spoils with a harsh reflection. Creative shot.
04/22/2002 08:43:00 AM
Really good composition, except maybe cropping the right side a little more. Great shot.
04/22/2002 08:24:00 AM
Belle
04/22/2002 08:20:00 AM
i don't get the transition, but she is cute
04/22/2002 07:51:00 AM
My goodness, Krysti Nelaine, is that hair pink?
04/22/2002 07:28:00 AM
The reflection of the dolls makes this photo match the theme very well.
04/25/2002 01:24:00 PM
Without the title, this transition would have been very hard to work out. Good lighting, and the scene looks natural, not posed.
04/23/2002 01:46:00 PM
nice shot, original subject
