Interesting challenge so far. Several cool comments. A couple very cool favorites. Along with a validation request, which I sent in and was validated as legal.

I've gotten some request on how I accomplished this shot. I really didn't want to do another studio shot. I had 4hrs on the last day to come up with something. I love these bleeding heart plants, I have several in the yard.....So here is what I did:

I filled a large dark green bowl with water. I took a paint can cap and poked a hole in the middle and ran a stiff piece of wire up through the cap. The length of the wire was a quarter inch or so above the water line. I had to put rocks in the cap to hold it down under water. Placed a single heart on the wire. Put a couple dozen hearts in the water. These things really float for a long time. I placed the bowl on a spinning cutting board. Got the water spinning pretty good, stopped the bowl and positioned the heart the best I could for composition. As the hearts continued to spin I used 1 sec. exposure and fired a strobe just before the shutter closed. Basic processing, crop/rotate, a little contrast, curves, saturation and usm. It was a stretch to the spirit of the challenge, yet the heart itself has symmetry and it is nature even if the shot was taken in a studio....Lol........Anyway that's pretty much it.

Missed the challenge, but this is brilliant. Wonderful effect, everyone wants to know how, I imagine you started with the still in the middle then rotated. Well done.

In-camera blur, I think - I love the way this spirals in to that one perfectly sharp heart. A beautiful image and one of my top scorers.
