 Thanks to everyone for the great comments and score.

It was 2 hours until the deadline and I still did not have a suitable entry. That is when I decided to fall back on the smoke. I slapped together my stuff and took about 50 shots. Downloaded the images to my old, slow computer and finally found the image to use. I had about 30 minutes left before deadline. Started editing and ugh! Found that I had left the camera set to ISO 1600 from some previous test shots and the image was really grainy for a good smoke image. There was no time to reshoot, so it was Noise Ninja to the rescue. Took several passes, but it finally cleaned up fairly nice.
