It's hard to find these strange little flowers in the forest and they don't "bloom" for very long. The flower head turns to a bunch of red seeds very quickly which fall to the ground and are covered with dead leaves and ferns for the winter.

I was very happy to see this challenge for Shez as I thought she would enjoy seeing a different looking flower from the Northern forests of Minnesota.

Thanks for all the votes and nice comments! I'm going to try and plant the seeds in a new area and see if I can have a garden of Jack-in-the-Pulpits!

Similar but more advanced to my shot earlier. I didn't realise they have such a short blooming period.

I didn't vote in this challenge and only commented on two images... yours was one of them. I'm back again and now see that this is a Personal Best for you. Congratulations! This is one that I would love to have on my front page for a while. It is beautiful!!!
