Sorry, this image is far too pretty and new for this challenge with your focal point not actually being what you describe in your title.
in order for this topic to work, i'd have to have an image of someone actually discarding the napkin to accept it...even then it's discarded, and i don't consider discarded and abandoned to be on fully equal footing in terms of usage.
To me, abandoned needs to have some future, current, or at least recent, significant value to the person leaving it. A napkin you used to blow your nose does not have the same value as the house you lived in but had to leave behind, or the car you drove to work in daily; or even the child you carried for 9 months but which you cannot provide a suitable life for.
in my opinion, this image DNMC for the above stated reason.
