I really was not going to enter this challenge, but it was school vacation and we took Luke out with his friend and brother and we bought some icecreams, and Lachie and Will were nice enough to pose for me. Other wise I find food photography quite boring.

I'm sure to get the sceptics to low ball me b/c it's in black and white.

Very nice shot Anita. I love the processing.

Didn't get around to voting on this one (I had hoped to get through the whole challenge, but fell short.) I don't mind the toning. Probably would have been a 7 from me -- simply because of the one looking at the other -- makes a great story. :)

Like two little Shakespearean princes, one coveting the other's chocolate.

My favorite and top pick. Hope it does well for you. Love the sepia tones and expressions.

I really want to like this image, but it's not really doing much for me. I think the choice of coloring is what I don't like.

Not a fan of the processing style, personally, but I'm a huge fan of the image and it's content. Great stuff!

Cute! Wished there was some more chocolate color here.

Compared to the other shots in this challenge this does not convey "desserts" very effectively, I think. Could also be a tad sharper on the eyes.

This is a tough challenge to vote. I'm torn between "what are you trying to do here" and "what do I expect here". Further complicating matters is the question "what would I do here".

What I would expect would be a technically strong piece of eye-candy that would present the dessert in a way that I would want to at least sample it, if not order it. Along these lines I'm looking at technicals: backgrounds, distracting elements, exposure, sharpness. I'm also looking for creativity, imagination, and originality, which can make up for less than perfect technicals.

So, where does this leave me with your image?

Nice take on the challenge! And thank you for not using any selective desat!!

mmmm....Thinking I need some chocalate ice cream now...the subject on the right looks like he's considering taking the subject on the lefts ice cream bar in addition to his own. Love the black and white...was getting tired of looking at color studio style shots...nice job.
