A quick shot at Bass Harbor Light under less than ideal weather conditions. Canon was holding a workshop when I arrived, so there were literally a dozen photographers with tripods already positioned and a couple of unrelated clueless people who would park in front of everybody at the peak of sunset. After the sun went behind the trees at center, most of them left and I was able to move around. That's when I noticed this puddle. I started to snap a few pics when I was suddenly besieged by a cloud of the most vicious mosquitoes I've ever encountered. End of photo session!

This particular shot was an in-camera HDR with relatively little editing since I only had my laptop with me and don't trust it for critical retouching. Submitted from the lobby of a Holiday Inn. ;-)

If it was just me I would have stayed longer, but I was already a quart low and the mosquitoes were trying to carry off one of my daughters.

Wow! How breathtaking! I bet those Canon Workshoppers would love to see this and see what's possible. My bet is none of them came up with something like this!

I love lighthouses reflected in tide pools - well heck, I love lighthouses. Must have something to do with being from Nebraska where we have darn few of them :) Beautiful shot. Voted earlier.
