You may ask why again...
When I look at the photo my eyes see a beutifull beach, then I see the girls bending over looking at something, I start to look for what they are looking for and see nothing there... not helping the composition. Gave you 5 like most.
Would like this picture more without the girls there.

ps.
Looked over the other comments, the once that are commenting on what might make this picture better you dont chekck the "Photographer found comment helpful" box, and we are only trying to help.

I guess I just disagree with you in general not to say that I am right and you are wrong and vice versa. I just had a different vision when editing this photo for the challenge and we happen to disagree. It's normal.

As for not checking your comments as helpful, my only reason for not checking them is because I disagree with the opinions contained within. As you can see from my other challenge entries, I usually check off many of them as different people provide different insight to my photos. Then there are the people that do not check off a single comment as useful. They must be 100% right all of the time and always take perfect photos and do not want to be bothered by comments even those that compliment the photo. I try to have an open mind when reading the comments. Also I did agree with ellamay about the people pointing out of frame so I do find comments helpful, even the ones I find negative.

More stuff:

Siggi,

I am not trying to pick a fight with you personally. I just want to make that clear. I respect you and your work and just wanted to have a constructive agrument between two people who love photography. If I gave you any other impression, I apologize.

I love the colors and how the people actually add color to the photo and show some perspective too! You can really feel the expansiveness of the beach and sky with them in the photo!

Very nice job!!!! I am happy that 3 chose this as a 10 and that you got NO 1s or 2s!!!! Keep up the great work!

Thanks everyone for leaving comments on my photo. Just want to address a couple of issues that people mentioned.

First, Siggi's comment about them bending over. That's the whole point of this photo: discovering. The mother and daughter found something interesting near the beach and are both looking at it.

Second is Beagleboy's comment. About my naming scheme, yes, the title is directly related to the activity you see in the photo. I was not the only one who titled their photo after the contents. The blue ribbon winner did the same, in a way, by actually naming the location of the shot. I think that's a great idea as I wanted to know where each shot was taken. If they did not mention the locale, I did not lower my score respectively. And about the fact that the people take away from the shot? I don't understand. The idea was to capture a moment of time while people are looking at something of interest which is what they are doing.

Again, thanks for voting and all comments!

I think you named your shot after the poses of your two subjects, but I really think that they take away from the shot as we see them here. Subjects walking away or sitting on the dock with feet in water might have been better. Love the blues and aquas of this shot.

Perfect composition with the horizon on the 1/3 mark, nice leading lines, and a wonderful sky. Exposure right on. "Tourists" actually look like they are doing what the title says. Great Job.

great looking sky. the clouds are impressive. i also like the people. they add both a sense of size and a personal dimension that many of the landscape pics in the challenge lack.

Breath taking view from the beach from the incredible blue water to the fluffy white clouds in the sky. The 2 subjects in the photo adds the human factor and makes you feel like you are there with them."10"
