I tried, and I've been thinking.... but this just couldn't be any other way. Beautiful.

awesome awesome shot - really stands out. just an amazing use of a gradient negative space and it takes cahones to put them in the corner... congrats.

Nobody gets as much out of negative space as you do. Brilliant!!

This came up and I thought I needed to just wait a bit for it to load. Then I realized it was white, not gray, and scrolled down. And then I clicked 9. It was really fun experiencing this photo as something over a few seconds, not all at once. :)

when i opened this the screen was blank...??? Then I scrolled down to drop a big fat ZERO on it...well, a one anyway. Then the boat appeared. I am generally not a fan of MASSIVE negative space captures but this is an exception in my book. Love, love, love this photo. Never had one instantly jump from a 1 to 10...there is a first for everything. Nice Job.

Wow -- that is some use of negative space. It works well but might be too mcuh. I think a square crop might work great here. It is not DPC legal but try using the clone tool to move the boat it to the lower right so it is driving into the frame rather than out of it.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I've picked this up in this comment series for your eclectic use of negative space - on an iPad (not where I'm typing this from, but I did peek earlier) one has to scroll down to realise this isn't a block-grey classic. It's a fine boat, well imaged and it does a great job to anchor the image (pun intended) - most of all though, I like how we can just make out the horizon through the mist.

Critical stuff: No

Overall: Bold and effective.

Minimalism at it's best.

At first I thought there's no picture until I scrolled down and down. Maybe a bit risky but I do like the idea.

love the minimalism, I almost thought there was nothing there before I scrolled down!

I like it but I would have liked it more in a smaller square to minimize the white space just a tad.
