------------------------

Hollowed lightbulb and candle carved to fit through the hole in the socket. Lower end painted black to look like the black isolator. Candle was pasted to the cardboard with wax. Lit the candle and immediately put the bulb and socket over it. shoot. Remove bulb, clean bulb as good as possible. Repeat. Over and over.
Lighting: Flash on lowest output with honeycomb grid slightly from back and above, modeling light on.
Had wished for advanced editing this time, needed an immense reduction of Clarity in LR and of NeatImage in PS to remove the small wax parts inside the bulb after dozens of tries. Smoke above the bulb was simply cropped off, the remaining portions also went unnoticeable with NeatImage.

Ha! The King of HMs is back!

I admire your patience here Oliver, I'm pretty sure I would have destroyed a hot light-bulb or two by cleaning them too vigorously! I hope you didn't burn your fingers at least. Congratulations on the strong finish.

Glückwunsch Oliver, dahinter hatte ich dich bereits vermutet. Ich denke das Bild kann den Aufwand der dabei entstand nur erahnen lassen.

A very interesting idea. I like how the evidently long exposure created the overall warm color to it.

#3, tied with another.
It's a good shot with a good message. I'm always struggling to find lights which are energy saving, but also give off good light all the time. Now that they make LED light bulbs, instead of these crappy candlelit ones, I might have to upgrade.

Great idea. Wonderful clarity. I can't believe the bulb isn't full of smoke/soot.
