Huge thanks to my daughter. It's not the shot that I expected to take, because I couldn't find a completely dark staircase. So I found a dimly lit staircase at William and Mary. If it was advanced editing, I would have added a vignette to emphasize the candle light even more. The outside light lit the top of each step a bit more than I would have liked.

The book was a last minute idea. The pose is my daughter relaxing in between takes and reading the book. I like it better than holding the book and candle:

The problem was trying to get light on the side of her face in the entry, or on the back of the book in the candle holding shot. I tried using a reflector, but there just wasn't enough light from the candle to reflect! I probably should have brought a flashlight to do a little bit of light painting. :)

This is the shot in which I was really interesting in shooting:

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. There are some awesome photos in this challenge!

Your daughter is beautiful, and both pictures are excellent. I especially like the one of her by the window, but both evoke just the right mood. The dress looks fabulously old fashioned and high class. Wonderful work!

This is one of my favorite photo's of this challenge. The young lady stretched across the stair case, and not curled up, brings out the elegance of the dress and draws you to her face.

Movie-like. Great props, well composed. As there was obviously another light source involved (which is not a fault), you could have used a reflector to brighten up the front (at least her face). Bumping up anyway.
