Challenge: Pet Rock (Expert Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X Pro DX
Date: Oct 11, 2012

Couple of days into the challenge and I just crept up barely over 6.00. Thought I had a good one here but I seem to have missed the mark. I went with the "inanimate object" aspect of the challenge. Was pretty sure a stick with a doll head on top qualified. But it wasn't a rock. Also went with a straightforward advanced edit here.

Single capture shot after the kids got off the school bus lit with a speedlite camera right. No shadows under neath him is due to the angle of the sun casting the shadow far in front - Aidan can jump pretty high. Thought it was a good fun idea that would score well. Probably would have done better in a free study. Oh we'll. we had fun.

I agree about the car and the glare but I was so glad to see other non-rock entries I ignored both LOL WTG! Congratulations on the top ten.

Nice stop action capture - he's really into it. The sky is not great but I love the energy and color. Voted earlier.

Great shot and pp.

My only complaints would be the glare marks in the sky that I find distracting and the car, that could probably have been cloned out, if not moved away before the shoot.

Red looks to be more like a pinto or paint, but no matter. Fun image. ETA: shadows help! If you can do an extract like this, drop shadows are a breeze. Lots of tuts online and probably here too. 7 for creativity.

nice picture, no rock. nice picture still! you make voting difficult =/
Gonna leave that intact. Why describe the challenge as pet-rock- if its infact not. Upped your score accordingly.

That white van really gives it the suburban feel. Aidan? :)
