 **About the DQ:

I inadvertently broke the challenge rules due to shooting in RAW. I'm the one who requested the site council disqualify my image as soon as I was aware I broke the rules. Sorry for the boneheaded move on my part, and thanks again for all of the very nice comments on my image!!**

I knew exactly the shot I wanted to get for this challenge, as I had taken a picture of this same tree just a couple of weeks before. This was taken at my favorite part of Joshua Tree (Keys View). I just got this one in on time, with only 5 minutes to spare!

On the technical side of things, the awesome sky colors were achieved with assistance from a B+W circular polarizer. Here's the shot I took two weeks before that served as inspiration for the one I took for this challenge:

I love dead snags. Although it does make me wonder what it would look like if it weren't completely silhouetted. -7-
