Challenge: Reflections Without Mirrors VI (Advanced Editing VII)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Apple iPhone 4S
Location: Phoenix Hyatt hotel room
Date: Oct 16, 2012
Aperture: 2.4
ISO: 125
Shutter: 1/20
Date Uploaded: Oct 21, 2012

I spent most of last week at a conference spending my day standing in an exhibit booth and nights at receptions or some other conference activity. When the exhibit floor closed at 5pm I got to go back to my hotel room for a few minutes. While I was there each evening there was a moment when the sun was just level with my 19th floor room. The shadow on the left is from the direct sun and the shadow on the right is from the sun reflecting off another building. In the middle is my reflection off a framed picture on the wall. The reflection also shows a building out the window and a second mini-silhouette of me. I know this shot will not be for everybody, but I find it interesting. I am not sure there is enough reflection for a lot of voters.

This is bitchin' way cool. Haven't voted in ages but I do meander through challenges every once in awhile and this one caught my eye immediately. Well done. And a great score, too.

I can feel your surprise in counting your shadows and reflections. A precious moment. So captivating!

(I'll give it a try with less grain on the wall and all the sharpness in the foreground and framed picture. Just a thought)

The grain and muted tones are superb, but thank especially for the explanation. It was hurting my head trying to logically figure it out.

I'm sort of surprised this didn't finish higher, although you never can tell. I love it and gave you 9.

It's like a game - how many shadows are there? A very cool little puzzle.

This one should be a top ten in my book. Love the mood and depth both in visual and story.

I see four of you - I think - and I imagine more in the receding repeating pattern in the center. I like that I can't quite figure this out - though I keep coming back to try to do so. Voted earlier.

I love this - keeps me looking and looking. Great entry for this challenge, would have been equally good for the secret self portrait one too.

It's kind of cool what you have going on here with the shadows and reflections. I think though with the grain and colors it comes off looking like a cell phone pic. I also don't think the setting is very interesting. At the least, I would have cropped out the bed as it adds nothing to the shot.
