The Recipe is very simple but is does require some local ingredients..

here it goes...get in the car and from my house drive to the local store that has some great baked goods. pick a box from the shelf. pay at the counter , and drive home.

my personal culinary expertise does not go past coffee or tea.

OH!..I did add powdered sugar to the baked goods.

Congrats on your win! These look a lot like the PA Dutch kiffels my grandma used to make only I think she used to grind up raisins and walnuts for the filling. These look like raspberry jam filled which I prefer. Yes, these are readily available at the grocery store, esp around the holidays.

But congrats on a beautiful red! I hear that the red and blue ribbon winners have to share the food with the yellow ribbon winner...

I spelled it just the way it was spelled on the box I got them with.....But look what I found //amuseinmykitchen.com/2011/12/22/kolachy/

As far as sharing...somehow all the cookies miraculously disappeared while I was processing the image

Damn I love these. My favorite is apple.
Congrats on the red!

And I think Wendy is mistaken, it's the red and yellow ribbon winners that have to share their food with the blue. Express mail to Hawaii isn't that expensive...just sayin'

Very well done, love the reflections and the b/g colors. The light is perfection and so is grandma's recipe, evidently, as they look SO good!!!

There is something about this photo that sets it apart from all the rest by a long shot. The perfect positioning of each element in the photo, the perfect lightig, the angled lighting in the background, the perfect focus of the plate. I dont think this couldve been done any better. This should take 1st easily. Great job!
