Broken Land
a tribute to hesitant

David's image is magnificent. Mine is a weak emulation, but I do so with greatest respect.
My tree and my land are different, but just as broken. Until the long term exceptional drought is broken, we are in trouble.

We have a fire smoldering in Forest Canyon. The fire started on October 9.

A better size here.

We have had no significant precipitation during the past week. We remain tinder dry.

Lovely shot with some similarity to the original.

I really like your image. As a replication of the original, it's a pretty big stretch (as this doesn't have the broken land aspect). But like I said, this is very nice.

Very good shot for itself, especially the bw-conversion. Subject differs much from the original, starting with the less wide lens over to the tree, which is much stronger, and the lack of clouds - this seems to be a wildfire (making me guess whose entry it is). Looking at your image I don't get the mood of loneliness, nature's strength and persistence that I got from the original.

Lovely shot, but you have given me no clues as to whose shot this is!
