Challenge: Holiday Cards (Expert Editing*)
Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7
Date: Dec 7, 2012
Date Uploaded: Dec 8, 2012

I really really like this. The style and humor is very much our family. This isn't the card we sent out, because we had ordered our cards before the challenge was announced. But I had thoughts of canceling that order and replacing it with this :)

I hope the voters don't care to see entire families. I'm certainly not going to vote with that requirement because it's just a silly limitation.

Note that this will be the first ever image voted upon that was taken with the Lumix LX7. All four photos (including the background which is wrapping paper) was taken with this camera, which has a hot shoe that allowed me to use my flashes to light the scene.

GAP2012 seems to be just trying to follow the challenge description, which sure sounds like the card should include the family or at least a member of the family. I was wondering how to do this without it being obvious that it was my picture. So, I borrowed someone else's children...

I voted fairly high on this one because of its creativity - but, I think that you really needed to be a Trekkie to "get" it.

Yeah, it's not the majority of the card, but it's a family member in the card and it's the wonder of a child's imagination at play in the other scenes. What's more magical and christmas-y than a child playing with toys?

yes it had one member of the family, and i thought it a better attempt than a lot on this challenge, just i felt the challenge was about you(the photographer) or your Family(plural) if it had said any other member of the family? and you cant see the childs wonder in his face or inquisative look... so for me yeah it didnt meet challenge like i dont think second place was worthy either compared to family ones.. i know it sounds harsh im not trying to be...

Fun card, would like to see a bit more decorations on the tree (or even visible lights) in the large image.
I like the incorporation of the viewer showing what appears to be a bulb on the tree as if they're look out on us
