Photographer's Notes:
I had been wanting to play with dry ice for some time and this was the perfect opportunity. My original idea was to put a light in a box with a hole in the top of the box. Put a glass bottle over the hole and fill it with water and dry ice to make cool water vapor. The light would light up the vapor and create an eirie effect.
I then got to thinking about what kind of bottle and the idea struck me to use an amber beer bottle hoping it would glow orange or red or amber or something ... sort of nuclear. Then the idea hit me to make up a beer that would be sort-of nuclear ... WMB Pale Ale.
It worked fine and I have a photo more or less like I imagined. I may post it as an out take later. But I chose this one instead. I am sure I will agonize over the choice for another 10 days.

I really think this one should have scored higher than it did. No disrespect to the other wonderful shots but, this one had an "entire" element as opposed to a nicely edited smoke stream. I'm amazed at what you went through to get this shot. Nicely done. Have added it to my faves. :)

This is an excellent shot. I just ran across it. The lighting and focus is perfect. Having the label turned to the right is a nice touch. Way to go!

When I saw this I was in awe. I love this photo, im a big beer fan, and never heard of WMD. It went well with this composition. I need to find some dry ice. It's hard to come by, but if I do, im definatly gonna try a shot like this

Great job, I was wishing for dry ice during submission week, but if I had got it, I probably wouldn't have got as good a shot as you have here. Congradulations

Cool shot! I love how you captured the "smoke", especially around the neck of the bottle. A tighter crop and a not-so-centered composition might look great, too.

Now if only the background would be totally black this would be a ribbon maker...
Maby your monitor is not calibrated (personally had alot of problems because of that) The idea itself, is a 10 pointer but the pick of background is not working for me (personally) btw. If you would have put the bottel under steam you could have removed the stikker without any glue remaning on the bottel (that is if you would have liked it) . 7

Nice shot, well executed. A little more sharpness on the smoke would have made this a winner for me but as is, the 'pouring' effect great.

*vote watcher?* the 1 you just saw was a bump :)

not sure why you shot the bottle with the label on the side like that...seems odd for a perfectly centred subject. uber cool smoke effect - the long exposure worked very well 8

im giving this an 8, although just wanted to say something that other people have said to me - the two lines on the left of the picture are distracting, if you could burn the left side out to match the right, it would make a more balanced picture, adore the bottle though :)
