 i took inspiration from previous Texture challenges, seeing that the dried thistle did quite well. the fluffy part is dried Miscanthus flowerettes. The background was just a sheet of poster paper painted gold.

it all came down to lighting, which was provided by a 75 W incandescent from below/behind passing through poster paper as a diffuser, and a normal flashlight from above/front.

in all, i think i took over 400 shots to get this one!
