Rust on a metal pig ear in my garden.

Yes after I uploaded this photo something kept bothering me about it. I felt I over did it on the sharpening which takes away from the textures. After receiving a few comments to the fact it confirmed what I felt. That is something I will have to work on in the future :) Thank you all for your wonderful comments.

Taking this on its own, it's a surprising and interesting textural composition.
Yes, if this is not what you were going for, then work on it. But, hey, thank
the photo gods for what happened. Frankly, I would not toss this one out.

yes, the sharpening turned this beauty into a burnt pizza. It would be interesting to try other processing on same shot

I like it. Great texture. I wonder what the same thing would look like from closer up?

When I first looked at it I thought it looked like some of my cooking!!! I have to agree with the comments about oversharpening however. Great textures.

I would not have guessed a pig's ear, but love the texture and colors.

So what are you doing with a pig ear in your yard? Great light and colors, Becky.

Love the colors, but the sharpening is too heavy for me.

At first glance, I thought it was food as a couple others have said...maybe a bit too much sharpening but it is a cool study in texture

When I first open this I thought it might be the skin of a Kane Toad. It really is an interesting image.

Molten rust - what an interesting texture shot .. so much to look at and the lines make a perfect frame.

I like the tonality, and differnt colors. The way the textures come together, and some of the peeled areas give this a multi layered look.
