7.30 and less than 6 hours until rollover.

What are you guys thinking? I mean I really like the shot, but I'm floored at the score. Never dreamed it would be as high as the staircase.

It was great fun hanging over the edge and seeing what the wide angle lens could do with this. It was the little landing that helped show the funkiness.

So the question is: body or no body? My mom enjoyed photography, and she always told me that I should put a person in a shot. I always thought that was stupid. Why ruin a gorgeous landscape by sticking a person in it? But actually, I'm finding this more and more true. I'm finding that I'm liking the shots on DPC that have some sort of person somewhere that gives it more of a story.

So I asked my son to walk down the stairs. That didn't work. I thought about having him sit on one, but that sounded dull. I liked that rectangle at the bottom. Well -- there's not much you can do down there! You can stand looking up, or you can lay down, anything else doesn't look like much.

So why not have a body?

My son thought it was dumb.

My husband thought it was better without. Actually, so did my mother-in-law, but I think she took it personally that I killed off her grandson.

So -- did the body add or detract?

Thanks for all the comments!!!

The body most certainly adds interest and especially intrigue. I think it would be rather one dimensional without. Well done! I like the position of the model and choice of white shirt w/ black pants. What I don't quite like is the framing; top edge is right on the window frame & stair post, and the bottom edge feels uncomfortable for me what with the rail covering the level below and making that area feel tight, but these aren't major flaws.

This has a film-noir feel to it. Also looks like something Hitchcock might have created.

As always, mom is right. Practice saying that in front of your kids. You have to model proper filial respect for them, so you get the benefits someday.

This is really nice. I think it helps to have something at the bottom for your eye to travel to. There might have been something that worked better than a body, but if that was what was on hand I think it adds interest to the shot. Nice job.

Fabulous as usual, Wendy. For me the body rewards the eye after a long trip down those stairs. Remarkable place.

Congratulations, Wendy - great perspective, lens choice, stairs!, light, processing. I would have loved this without the body but I must say it gave this image the something extra that stopped the voter cold and MADE him/her take a second and third look. So well done.

That's a kind of picture that when I look at it I just think "WOW!!", and can't stop staring at it. You got my 10. Other than the obvious things I love how the handrails "frame" the person. Hope it ribbons.

Great shot. Can't decide if I would have preferred this without the person or not.
Love the lines/composition. I think it would be better without the blown highlights in the window. Like the shading on the walls.
Well done.
