Last minute entry, all shots this months were either IR or feet (!)

[Feb. 3rd, 2013 04:02:36 PM]

Mind blowing comments so far. Thanks! Pity that the score won't put it into my profile. But that's DPC.

I was taking the photo of the reflection of the couple on my right, I did not even register there was a couple on my left. When I saw them in PP I thought that there was no way I could have arranged them the way they were there by chance - perfect symmetry, poses and fit into the doors of the restaurant.

I am enjoying experimenting with IR. In bright light the contrast is awesome for B&W.

What a tremendous image, Margaret. Congrats on the tt, the bling, etc. The hint of the interior only adds to the multiple layers. We're looking in but everyone else is looking out.

I really like the three different scenes to this image, which makes it unique. Great capture. (bumping up)

This is a new comment series for me, so please bear with me while I find my style!

(Voted earlier)

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. This is immense - the toning and management of contrast is just brilliant.

2. I see you but I don't recognise you - I'm sure I should. I like how boldly you stand there.

3. Then, there are the other stories playing out behind you to the left and right; couples enjoying the scene. Excellent.

4. Then the marvellous sky - teased into drama by your post processing. It adds much.

5. Then the doors, framing each of the three stories lending physical hypothecation to the overall scene.

Overall, I think this is fantastic.

Fascinating image. You look a bit lonely sandwiched between the two well framed couples. This works well in black and white. If I were to offer a minor criticism, I think parts of the sky might be a tad overcooked.

A masterpiece of intrigue-I actually stared at this for a long while, the PP is excellent, the clouds are awesome and the comp is perfect, all that adds up to a 10, well done.

My only 10 for the challenge, and you deserve one of these, it's outstanding in more ways than I can say!!

#1, tied with another.
Normally these "take a photo of myself in the mirror/window" are trite. What definitely separates this from the chafe are the characters in the two outer panes. Those kick so much ass that this shot rose to one of my two favorites of the free study.

Should add your pose adds to the awesome feeling. It has so much of laissez-faire attitude that I love it.

Edited for spelling and added quotations.

The framing of this shot is wonderful! The backs of the two couples and you facing forward works beautifully. I really like the processing too. I'm only early into voting but this will surely be one of my top picks.

Masterpiece. Extraordinary triptych, look like a surreal composition without clear border between reality, reflection and dream. Congrats.

Beautifully done. Portal indeed, into the different stories, all possibly subplots of the formal occasion that may have brought them all together, if they even are. Excellently framed to present it so effectively. Great tones.

Truly wonderful.
