 This is my first challenge for a while. I had this Aurora Borealis image from my Iceland trip with Bob Bobski back in March 2012.
We drove for hundreds of miles through the night to find the only clear skies whilst we were there. We parked on a peninsular on the North West coast and waited.
I have never seen the sat-nav in the car showing grey blocks of nothingness before so we really had driven to the end of the world, or so it seemed.
I can not describe the feeling when we took the shot. We were both leaping about in the pitch black with red head-torches on in a joyful dance. It may not be the Northern Lights shot of the century but to me, its priceless.
The trip was a success and we had the shot that we thought we went for. But it turns out that Iceland has SO much more than the Northern Lights. It is a remarkable place.
I hope that this will, amongst some talented company, get over a 5 as that seems to be my limit. It has been basically edited and in a "BEST OF 2012" challenge with "advanced editing rules" I would be happy with that, considering the enormously talented company I keep on this site.

Who gave it a 1?
Surely the fact that someone gets their camera out and can take the lens cap off.
process a RAW image and bother to enter means a 1 is odd.
I have never given a 1 and I give my 10's sparingly.
But a 1,

Simple and elegant, great combinations of color and an almost perfect green which is the hardest of the colors to properly capture. Clean crisp composition and not overly busy. Another excellent entry. I'm getting tired of all these great images - making me look like a jerk. :>)
