Bought a Speedlite 430 EX II for this; my first attempt at high-speed photography and the first time after years of work with studio lighting equipment I come back to strobist stuff. Great fun, but a mess to clean up afterwards.

Was hard to get strawberries at all at this time of year; this was the second best I could get - the first one was "dead" after three shots.

Not at all, high-speed sync works differently, you lose only 2.5 stops (not 7)

Lighting is very consistent and image is very sharp but I think you could have done away with the border.

While this is technically very well done, I've seen so many similar images its become a cliche. I like it as one of the better ones I've seen, but they've lost their initial impact.

My top pick - 9. Minor complaints are not keen on the pixel line and feel a better strawberry may have made this superb photo even better. Still fabulous though!
