 Took another photo of my metal pig in the garden that is rusting away. This is the side of the pig. I did not sharpen this one at all. Just boost the contrast a bit.

Plain, simple, natural, unprocessed goodness. More drama could be achieved with additional light if you are going to re-shoot the pig in the future.

You're very good at finding textures, & I have an idea for you--see if you can find a texture in some light coming from the side. It will pick up detail in the texture that you can't see with the naked eye. Even in a plain sheet of white copier paper.

Great detail here, I couldnt work out what it was, I also at first thought it was an old tree stump with fungus growing on it. Youve done a great job on showing the texture here. Thumbs up to minimal editing.

Looking at the thumbnail I thought it was a freshly sawed off part of a tree .. then I opened up to a lovely textured piece od metal .. life is so exciting and filled with treasures if only we are on the look out for them.

Beautiful and very painterly. Great patchwork or, more aptly, great view from above! Looks like the Earth from high up. Or a granite formation.

This one is quite nice. I particularly like that you chose a really interesting item, then let the natural appearance of the item show through, rather than trying to make it something that it's not.
