Thanks, Richard. I have to say that this obvious observation (no water reflections in winter) did not cross my mind. At least that makes "artificial" a certainty.

DPC seems to hate landscapes now, with the exception of really good auroras and dramatic sunsets/sunrises over calmed water.

Very surprised and pleased for all landscape photographers.

The crispness of both the focus and the tones take a beautiful mountain scene over the top. Congratulations on the top ten.

Hahn, I think - it's a wonderful winter scene and the dluplication does recall the clarity of a mountain lake. Excellent tones. 8 Voted earlier.

Even though I came prepared, I still got fooled to think that's a lake reflection. Well done.

The amazing thing about this image is the incredible depth - it's almost like 3D in someways - very difficult to achieve in a black and white conversion. This is a lesson in composition and conversion that one doesn't see often. Beautifully detailed, the blacks, grays and whites are perfect - beautiful imagery. Personally, I'd call this the winner - but it's not up to me. Well done.

Keep trying to find the water for the reflection...knowing full well there isn't any! Wonderful landscape! Perhaps a little extra burning of the shadows in the mountain would've given this some more punch and depth?

It's a beauty. Pretty good emulation of a lake reflection. Oh, how I wish we had open water during winter. One of my favs in this challenge, as it is a great bw conversion and meets the challenge well. 10
