Seems to be much underappreciated – a lot of comments, though. I really hoped for a top 5 - but what do I know

Confusing to me - what is she pulling (or "pull" as in tasking a drag of the ciragette). Or is she pulling the thing in her left hand - kinda looks like a sailboat tiller but can't be. (I wish we could see it.) I like the light, the smoke is good, but the situation including the contemptuous expression is incomprehensible. Best my head can make of it is that we the viewers are in a precarious situation, and she is about to pull the lever that sends us to oblivion... or something. I'm blabbering on in frustration because the shot is too well done not to have some specific idea behind it. Hoping the story is revealed, I remain..

Great portrait. I love the look on her face. It says so much... Nice light and tones too.

Great portrait! I wish it was more about the smoke then the person.

8 from me... could be sharper, I think. (voted earlier)

Nice lighting and detail, but her expression is too posed....there is no spark in her eye.

Nice, soft portrait. Wish there was a touch more definition in the face, but then again, the challenge was about smoke, not the lady :)

Odd composition and cropping. Maybe if the smoke filled your empty space a bit more or if you had some other empty space below her cropped finger tips to balance it out better. I think you could have done something much stronger with a different pose.

Terrific portrait. Wish the smoke was a a more prominent element in the image

Ok, so there is some smoke... but it doesn't seem to be playing a major role as the challenge describes. Had she actually been pulling on the cigarette in a close up portrait, I think this would have been better.

Nice portrait, a little too high on the rembrandt lighting on her cheek, maybe having her face the light away from the camera as though she was ignoring you making a comment on her smoking could have been neat.

Beautiful portrait, but the cropped hands bother me. Still a top5 contender.
