Parhelia over Lake Estes on April 10, 2013. Sundogs.

Sun Dogs info

Parhelia. Double Sun Dogs at 7:21 am, April 10, 2013. Over Mt. Olympus and Lake Estes.

It was extremely cold this morning. The sun was so bright, it was impossible to look to the East. But, the atmospheric event was there. Good example of something the camera can see (with proper settings), when the eyes are overwhelmed. 28mm lens focal length.

Antarctic parhelia

Well, I'll guess this won't score well because it will not be understood and it won't be anything like the inside set up shots of glasses and stuff. The score doesn't matter to me, as this image is a rare sighting. I'm proud of the photograph and the effort it took to acquire.

Spectacular sight, even more beautiful when taken at such a scenic spot. Unique take on the challenge.
Looking at those aperture/shutter numbers, this was REALLY bright - at ISO400 as well. Thanks for sharing this.

Hmm, this was my top pick. Perfect for the challenge description, and unique compared to the other entries. Under appreciated for its uniqueness.
