I'm guessing this to be a Hahn23 entry. Right subject, with minimal processing. A bit of tonemapping (just a bit) would probably crank this scene up to DPC mass appeal levels, but I applaud your resistance to what you no doubt feel are gimmicks (gimmicks I use quite routinely, because I like them). I like the scene you managed to capture. I'm sure this was not a quick and casual shot to get. There's an awful lot in common between photography and hunting, isn't there?

This makes ME sad... but I'm hoping this is part of the yearly cycle for them (not sure)... I'm noticing all their ears are perked, does that mean something?

And maybe you can find the npr program I heard where she was interviewed... fascinating stuff.
