This image obviously did not convey the sense of complexity to most voters and that was why it was voted so undeservingly low... as was true of most images submitted of people in this particular challenge.

I liked the way you composed the picture and it has decent quality so I scored it a 6. Overall, it is a good picture.

I made no comment on it during the challenge but if I had I would have made two suggestions for improvement...

One, shoot at a higher aperture for greater DOF. That way all the hair on your daughter's head would be in sharp focus. I don't think going the other way around with the shallowest DOF possible focused off the eye would have worked as well, but that would be worth a try too.

Two, either shoot her further from the wall or use your photoediting tool to make a smooth white background. The mottling in the background is a little distracting.

I just want you to know that this was indeed a very good image and very well put together. The reason that it did not end up higher is that there appears to be a limitation on the extension of concepts. Often time the voting blocks lock up on what is a contender and what is not. It is a mystery. Keep up the good work.

returning for comments.
The mystery and complexity of a woman...is there something more complex? Well, you did an excellent job here with the peekaboo of eyes, cheek and lips..not to overlook the impish smile. Bumping up.
