My wonderful husband. If you only knew how much "he isn't into having his photo taken", then you would know what an accomplishment this is. A 20 minute photo shoot and he was done. His Army uniform and equipment from 1967.

"curtpetguy" please forgive me for this unworthy reproduction. The lighting is not nearly as wonderful as the original and I think you are somewhat younger. All done with advanced editing.

super re-creation. One of my own top scoring images in this Challenge, too.

I adore this - and your husband is very cute though I suspect he'd rather I use another adjective :) I am married to his twin brother. We are lucky.

Very cool image!! Wish the lighting was a tad more dynamic as it comes across a little flat. Nonetheless, great shot. Love the expression and detail!

Nice and clear with good eye area highlight. Expressive and engaging.

This was one of my favorite images when I voted on the original. You created a great representation.

Very nice. The lighting seems a bit strange, but I don't care, this is just a perfect take on curpetguy's DQ.

What a wonderful photograph. The vignetting is a bit odd, however, especially over the hand, where it makes the skin look a bit grayish. It also makes the thumb the brightest spot in the image. I'd have loved a bit of dodging on the face and eyes.

Voted earlier coming back to comment and bumping up.

Excellent portrait work! Lighting if fabulous. I like how the pose feels more casual than the original. In your redux, it feels like we just made eye contact with this soldier and he is raising his cup up in a hello nod. I also like how you captured the additional detail of steam rising from the tin coffee cup - it is a nice little touch. Visually this one just pops more than the original and one reason is that you have a nice dark backdrop which your subject contrasts off of. Nice work!
