Not sure what spawned this idea -- just thinking about what I could wrap rubber bands around, and I liked what the consequences would be.

I really wanted them on egg cups, but it turned out I only had two (I thought I had three.) And for some reason I thought it was important to have three eggs.

What I don't like about the shot is the fact that the bands are black. That's because I used colored rubber bands. It seemed like such a good idea. They were red, yellow, blue, etc. But I really didn't like the colors when the shot was finished, so I desaturated all but the egg yoke. It really would have been better with regular light brown rubber bands. It's still bugging me...

Thanks for all the comments!

I love the black bands. For me, they really make it interesting.

Also, I just found your watermelon link.

Hahahahahaha!

I like the idea of the broken egg but I think the others dilute the impact. It may have been intended as a humorous image but I see implications of something more tragic - the shape of the yolk reminds me of Fracis Bacon's paintings with depictions of life ebbing away such as:

Unique entry.
I'm not sure what it signifies, perhaps the Freudian's will have a field day ;)
I'm guessing entrapment and despair? The safety of home is an illusion?
It is unique and the much liked studio style of DPC. Should do better than 6.
