Gorgeous colours and pose on the macaw. I would like to see a curve adjustment done on the eye as that, to me, is the most important part of any portrait...human or otherwise.

Nice bird. Very clear and great detail. The light seems a little harsh in a way on the beak. Nice work and good luck! 8

Great colors. The white is just slightly washed out, but I love the detail on the feathers.

Very sharp details and well saturated colors. My only complaint is with the bright lighting. It's casting a fairly strong shadow of the parrot's beak onto the yellow feathers. 7

What’s not to like about this great photo? Nothing... There have been many of them shown on this site. What would have garnered a better score? Not the colors they are excellent, the focus is there too... maybe the setting? I took a picture for my neighbor of her pet bird that escaped with a telephoto lens as it was perched up high in the branches of my Redwood Tree, she said that they were better than any of the many she had taken.... there is something about a natural backdrop that tends to enhance any picture IMHO.

Clear, vivid, and some personality, too. This should do well!

exquisite capture. i imagine the focus could be a tad sharper, but all the same, the composition, coloring, and lighting are fantastic.

superb detail and colours...the eye looks a little flat needs more colour and lighten the shadows behind the eye and from the beak on its neck

Amazing detail all over. The colour is superb. However the eye should be the most sharpest point of the image and it just isn't. That is the only tiny flaw. The photo is otherwise great.

Your bird is a more cooperative model than my kid, and good-looking too!

Lighting seems a bit harsh. Lovely macro shot. Title could be a bit more original, but it describes the subject well.

It's a perfect model :) A professional look :) Taking advantage of the wonderful colours, I would've increase the contrast a bit, to make it's beak and eyes more black.

Fantastic! Amazing! Suberb!...WOW!
Edit: I guess my only little nitpick is the ever-so-slightly over exposed white area around his beak and eye. But that's just being really picky.

Nice bird portrait.. the light seems just a little harsh overall.. there may have been some possible room for improvement there, but the overall detail is nice...

I love Macaws and this one is no exception. Almost any animal shot will automatically get extra points from me. I'm going to have trouble in the wildlife challenge, LOL!

But for this shot, wonderful expression on the macaw but the light is bit bright and the shadow behind his eye is just every so slightly distracting but not enough to make me lower the score from the original 10 I have given it!

Oh, what wonderful colors...really love the sharpness here, and the shadows are perfect! No suggestions for improving, it's a quality shot! Thank you!

this is just simply unabashed beauty. The texture bristles and I hear the grating of his beak. Great tonal values and thank you for for not over processing this image. This is the temptation to make it more beautiful. Excellent job and you have my admiration. Bumping up.

Beautiful portrait with great details and colors. I do find the lighting a bit harsh, close the overexposure on the white.

I'm a sucker for parrot portraits, and this one's a cracker(!). The feathers aren't quite as defined as I've seen on other shots here, and it seems ever so slightly overexposed but the main thing that would have improved this in my eyes would have been to have nothing behind his beak. Above and to the right of his eye looks very blurred... did something go wrong in PS? 7

Nice color and focus. Reflection in the beak is a bit disttracting. Good job.

another beautiful bird closeup profile. terrific feather details and beak textures. white areas in the face are blown out a bit.

Nice composition of the picture (Central). For some reason, i feel like the picture is slightly overexposed, perharps due to the white contrast on the bird's face. Also, perharps a themed colour for the frame would've brought more punch to the picture (yellow or green?)

Those features are great. There have been lots of images lately with very smooth feathers, but you held the detail. The white areas of his face might be a touch bright, as it seems there should be a little more texture there.

This is probably one of the better bird-head shots I've seen. The colors are magnificent, and really shine out. Composition is great, but lacking in any real dynamic. In the end, it's just another Blue and Gold Macaw. 8

Nice study of colors. I like the shadow down the left The orange colored feather below its lower beak is a bit distracting. Like the tight crop.

Great color and contrast here... seems slightly over-sharpened, though. The white feathers seem a bit overexposed, too.

Wonderful colors and good composition. DOF is a bit shallow so the blur on the blue part stands out. A very good pic nonetheless.
