Love this shot. Nice and sharp with a great DOF.

Great shot of a monster ant, but for this particular challenge I think we were limited to vertebrates.

I know you've gotten the comment.... but, no insects :( great capture, though!

Gives me chills to look at him - looks kinda like a fire ant. Background definitely is distracting to me, and wonder what it would have looked like with a lot of it cropped out.

Very nice shot. I even like the shallow deapth of field even though the back leg suffered... However (and I'm sure this has already been pointed out more than you care to hear) the wording of the challenge was very specific and this doesn't meet it.
Note : If you can document that this creature fits into the challenge, please email me and I'll reconsider my vote... myqyl@e-clark.us

The challenge was very specific about what was considered wildlife. This wasn't one of the choices.

Not exactly a mammal, or reptile, or anthing else that would meet the rules.

I have to go with the idea that insects do not fall into wildlife. They are not amphibians, reptiles, avians or mammals.

You need macro eyes to notice that :). Treasurous even if its not in listed species.

Nice macro. How important these critters are to the ecosystem, who says wildlife is big.

Yuk! Shame it isn't a little sharper on the head, but mind you, I wouldn't have got within 6 feet of that, let alone how close you got to it for this shot! Well done!

Focus on the ant could have been a bit better. Composition is great imo.

Well done.
