Perfect positioning of the surfer and a nice B&W treatment.

Details: Use the surrounding space of your subject to create the wow of the photograph.

Seems mildly overprocessed. But you pretty much got the challenge right. Would have been more 'wow' if I could have seen the whole surfer.
