I'm still going back and forth on this one. I really liked the idea -- and I like the lighting, but I'm not sure I'm happy with the frame. Maybe it's just the wrong frame, and a different frame would have worked better. But actually, it's the only frame I had this size. I pulled the mirror out to use it. :)

So -- I had the idea, and liked the idea, but the problem was, when my son held the frame, you could see his thumbs holding the frame up from underneath. So we needed to hang the frame from something.

But what?

ummmm....

well....

The dining room chandelier? It really didn't seem like the best idea. I had fears of my husband coming home to a chandelier ripped out of the ceiling, with plaster, a chandelier, and my son all laying on the floor.

But -- we did it anyway!

The frame was hung from the chandelier with black quilting thread.

And it held!!

Then we still had to tape black velvet to the bottom of the frame to hide the rest of the kid. Velvet is kind of heavy, so it was another opportunity for everything to come crashing down.

It still held!!

We did the shoot as quickly as we could, with my son holding on to the frame vveeeeerrrry carefully, trying not to pull down at all...

We finished with everything intact -- chandelier, ceiling and kid. :)

Thanks for all the comments!!

I thought I recognized ol' droopy there. Give him an annoying hug from me, and congrats on the "ribband" as they'd say in Blighty...

cute, maybe borderline cliche, but hasn't lost its charm yet.

oppressed by the negative space above him, it becomes a symbol of his overpowering depression. a little obvious for my taste, but I do like the lighting on the model, and his expression.

Perfectly square framed and accurate emotional description. Wd Team Mate, another DPC winner. (No Vote Team Image) Easily a 7 with possibly a bump depending on rivals.
