 Forgot to clean the sensor obviously. Lol.

We just installed gas logs and I wanted to see how the flame would look if I gave it the same treatment I did with flowing water... so I slapped on the ND filters, cranked the aperture to f22 and the shutter speed to a nice long 30 seconds... and then took several shots. Played with a variety of in-camera processing choices and I think this one was the portrait setting. Set to RAW+JPG and bombs away. This is the best as the grate was more centered and I liked there were no blown highlights in the flames.

Doing well... started at 6, got to a 6.6667 after 3, then dropped to an even 6.0000 before bed after rollover. Since then it's been a pretty nice climb. Right now after 17 1/2 hours it's up in the 6.72 range. Still 6+ long days to go.

I do like the minimal challenges as they seem to offer a level playing field and force you to use the camera vs. photoshop.

Last day... had been in the 6.5s for most of the week, then touched 6.62 briefly today before now at 6.60

Clearly, not going to be a personal best. I see about four images that I like better than mine. But they are all water shots, so maybe shooting fire will give an edge.

13 hours or so and I'll know.

WOWIE! A BLUE???? NO WAY!

Thanks everyone, that's awesome. And made my hour in front of the fireplace during the Macy's parade on Thanksgiving morning worth it.

I truly expected maybe a top 5, maybe... totally shocked.
