 Rather like the pose on this guy. He dove in till only his wingtips were showing and then surfaced with his prize. I know it's a bit odd to compose with him leaving the scene but I don't have enough water on the right to compose differently and still meet the challenge.

PP - converted from RAW, straightened, cropped, levels, CEP (tonal contrast and detail extractor on gull), Viveza (lightened head and eye), desaturated blue/cyan/magenta on gull, increased saturation on beak and legs, resized, Nik Sharpen, blurred background a little more, added border.

Mary this was an absolutely terrific capture. What may have hurt you was the water ended up being kind of "busy" and didn't allow the bird to "pop" the way it should. Regardless it was an (8) from me. Keep birding!!!
