It was freezing, I was freezing, my hand were numb. I had just packed all my stuff into the backpack and this thing appeared in the middle of the night. I just had to get a shot at it.

A halo forms as sunlight is refracted in millions of randomly oriented hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. The halo is large; the radius is roughly the size of an outstretched hand at arms length.
