I wouldn't have expected this much glare from a 40mm, unless it were really dirty. If this is a result of a dirty lens, then I would recommend NOT cleaning it, because I love me some sun glare!
This image fits perfectly with the feeling I get when geese first start migrating every year. It's a haunting distant "what is that...." sound that gains quickly in intensity. Soon they're right on you and the racket is undeniable. Canadians are invading!

| It looks like the birds on the right are breaking for recess. This doesn't subtract from, but adds to, the silhouetted trees. The upper branches nicely frame the sun. |
