Having small children, this emotionally hits me, the fatigue in his eyes, the blood, the medical setting. Quite emotional.

Have to admit I find it disturbing to see blood on the sheet. Although the child seems completely wrapped up in whatever he's watching on the phone, so maybe the blood doesn't bother him.

So real and touching. Shows a great strength in the young man.

Heartbreakingly poignant image with many levels. Actually, a consummate portrait. I hope he is all better soon. Thank you for sharing this personal moment.

You're getting about 30,000,000 comments on this I bet... so poignant... such a moment in time... Photographically, a difficult shot with the overhead angle and more of a journalistic feel. Without context we can only imagine what is going on for this guy. I would almost (just almost) think staged shot... except for the telltale bracelet on his arm... so this is real and it breaks my heart even more. Just took a moment to pray for this child, for their healing and the comfort of their family in this situation.

I truly hope this ribbons. I don't give 10s lightly and I will for this photo. Not just for sentiment, but for the courage to share this. Thank you.

This is getting my only ten, but there are some things that bother me.
1 - I can see your legs.
2 - Can't figure out where the blood came from.
3 - I would've shown just slightly more left arm so it's readily apparent he's in the hospital. Just to make things more obvious for other voters.
4 - For some reason the title. I know it's because of his shirt, but it just doesn't seem to fit.

Certainly has me wondering what is going on.
Seems very journalistic in nature.

I find this very hard to vote as my only response is that I hope he gets better soon, poor little lamb.
