Spectacular. This is so natural looking...I love it!

I am an avid hunter and outdoors person and of all the submissions in this challenge I find this to be one of the most natural settings and captures . The only thing that might have made it a bit better for me would have been if the bear was in front of the rock to make him stand out more. Great shot

Lovely composition. Just a little more contrast to bring out the bear more I think would make this even better. 8

Wow. My only nit is that the bear doesn't appear to be spot on in focus. 8

Returned to this one and am bumping to a 9

I like the diagonal composition here, and the contrast of colors between left diagonal foreground and upper right. The bear is ell caught, though coming the other direction might have been better to see his face (though then he'd be walking off the picture rather than into it). All in all, one of my top picks for the challenge. Good luck..

WOW! What an opportunity. Excellent composition. I might have experimented with the contrast a little.

It's great to see 1. an shot actually taken in the wild and not a zoo, and 2. a shot that shows more background scenery. I'm not sure how well it will do in the challenge since the wildlife is supposed to be the clear subject and yours is more the entire scene, but I say it's a great shot. 9

Wow! I go to the mountains every year, and have always longed to get a shot of a bear. This is a GREAT shot of a bear. Of course the setting he's in makes me ache for the mountains. It's beautiful!

Lovely scenario... bear and rocks... Those trees look like flowers with bright tops :). Sure would like to see bears front but i guess he better goes then cames ;).

this is clearly the best direction he could have been facing for this shot. colours seem a little flat (maybe a little overexposure to keep the details in the bear?), but i like it other than that. 7

Good job

Nice capture. While I would love to have more detail by being closer, no way in hell would I ever fault you for keeping your distance for a mammal of this size. =)

Great capture! Obviously taken in a natural environment. Is this in Colorado? Good luck in the challenge!

I do believe that's wildlife. :) I wish the color saturation were a bit higher, but you get bonus points for composition on this one.

Really breathtaking - a TRUE wildlife shot. I love the lonly aspect of this and a wonderful use of drama -movement with the composition.
