This is a snap shot I took of my daughter. I was taking sunset pictures when I turned around and saw her feeding the birds. They were swarming all around her and her loaf of bread…

really amazing shot.

I remember looking at this shot during the challenge and thinking something along the lines of 'this should win, but it won't'. Unfortunately it seems I was right.

Terrific tones and composition, well done.

I really love this shot. The lines of the sand with the wideangle add a great sense of drama to an already action-packed shot. Very underrated in my opinion :)

I should have known :) *hugs*

Great stuff as usual :) I'm gonna protest that this should have a ribbon :D

Good use of b/w. missing detail in the foreground. 9

Like this in B&W, and the composition. Only thing that bugs me is the foreground.

very nice work here

I like this shot, the choice of black and white and the pattern in the sand and sea are excellent. I would only have taken out the human. I think it distracts from the shot. Great focul point though.

I really like this artistic approach to the challenge. It may suffer the wrath of the narrow minded voters since a human is in the shot. The only thing I would change about this shot would be to frame it with a less centered horizon. Good Job.

Good...moody...but the front ground attracts more attention then birds themself.

My highest score given. This shot to me is excellent. By having the human in the shot you've taken it from being just an ordinary snapshot, to something artistic. Very moving shot. -danny

I like the image, but it strikes me as more of a landscape.

Nice shot but doesn't do it for 'wildlife'

I like the way that your entry points out that a "natural environment" isn't necessarily one that excludes humans. Lovely image.

Good use of B&W. I think with a different crop showing less beach I would have liked the shot better. Still a great shot.

Good Job.

I like this, I can feel the spray, here the gulls. Neat perspective

Ground rushing beneath my feet, reeling towards these birds in flight, towards the water and the light.

To photograph a feeling such as this. Fantastic.

Well... This photo is 'best of show' for sure, in my humble opinion. The foreground texture of this shot really makes it work well for me. The human element and that interaction with the wildlife adds an extra punch for me as well... great work :)
