We are human, after all.
Much in common, after all.
We are human, after all.
Flesh uncovered, after all.
~Daft Punk

Thanks for all the awesome comments! I LOVE Daft Punk and I was happy to give my version of an old album of theirs a shot. I am also happy they are still relevant and making music today! I didn't watch, but heard they did well at the Grammys!

I am actually a little disappointed in myself on this one, in that I procrastinated a bit with coming up with a final idea and only left myself with about 6 hours for shooting and editing on the day of submission. As someone who is usually a perfectionist, it has driven me crazy having to look at the few things I needed to finish up. :) A more final version can be seen here: //www.flickr.com/photos/samanntran/12109167875/

I am also hoping to be back around DPC and in more challenges now that the holidays are over! Jason and I spent two weeks in Thailand and Cambodia for Christmas and New Years and before that I was too busy with my side photo biz and trying to get the edited shoots out to my clients before we left! Things have calmed down and hopefully I will be able to participate more.

As Pharell stated in the Grammy Awards, "The Robots (Daft Punk) would like to thank their fans for their support".

This totally represents Daft Punk in that special way that they use their music. This picture IMHO is just pure BRILLIANT.

I am in pure AWE on this picture.

A very well deserved Blue Ribbon. Congratulations!!!

There have been a few 'cyborg' type shots in the past. However, none were quite as well done as this one. Well thought out composition, excellent lighting, color and contrast balance in processing, and blending. Flawless really.

The concept seems to be futuristic obviously (I have to admit I have no idea who Daft Punk is), but there is a certain relevancy to the present depicted here in an oblique way. Perhaps it is my imagination.

Flaws - yes, mostly if not entirely in the reflection, but who cares? That is not the subject here and only plays a minor supporting role. Very well done!

You must really be a perfectionist, because clicking back and forth, I don't see any differences between this and the one you posted on flickr. But then, I've never been very good at "how are these different" games.

That's some great work in six hours.

Very well done - there was very little doubt in my mind this would not get the Blue despite the incredible competition. A work of art!!

Must be the rejected paramour of the robots, with not unsubtle hints of Miley Cyrus (not to the robots' taste?). The clean rendering and design suit an album cover. voted earlier

Your images are always great and I find myself opening all Expert editing challenges just to see if you and Gyaban entered and find your next great creation. You have definitely done it again with this one.

The only problem with becoming a expert editing fixture on DPC is that people will start to pick apart your images even more because they sense it is yours and want to find the flaws so they have something to critique on. Which is the main point of DPC IMO. That being said I wish the reflection matched. It was the first thing I noticed. Luckily for you it is the one and only flaw.

I think your score will stay pretty high regardless of the reflection because all together this is a fantastic image. Great work yet again.

By far the best utilisation of the expert editing in the challenge, and a great photo too... this is my tip for the blue ribbon, and the 10 I'm about to give will probably help. :)

Brilliant as usual. With a lot of truth in it for our time. I`m a kind of the digital revolution (I grow up with the techniques which rules our world today, they are mainly part of my job) but I don`t agree with every aspect of them. Most young people today don`t reflect the consequences of the new parallel digital world.

This is an interesting image and a creative idea! To me I would almost say the only thing out of place is the pants - everything else looks robotic.

A tour de force sci-fi fantasy. The under-skin wire is really well done, though the plug-into-the-wall power source seems a bit impractical --- unless it's just for a recharge. The gallery of outlets, eyes wide open and mouths agape, provide a nice comic touch. I also love how the patch of color seen when she unzips her skin is echoed in her bangles.
