Beautiful pup! She looks so soft. The purple around her neck kind of takes the viewer out of where they typically want to be when they see an image of a wolf. Personally, I imagine Alaskan wilderness, and this wolf is running free but has taken time out to check out this strange person. Without the collar there's more threat to the photographer, and I think that gets you bonus points in DPC scoring. With all that said, this is your pet, so it's not about running wild in Alaska at all. It's about belonging to a loving family in Maine, yet still getting to play in the snow. Either way, it's a beautiful animal, and you did a wonderful job photographing her.

Great shot! I love the intense stare and the fill the frame crop. Not so wild about the purple thing at his neck though, wish it weren't there. But a beautiful image otherwise.
