This is the Disappearing Gun at Battery Carmichael in the Presidio. Too bad it was wrapped up today (they only take it out once a month).

Entering only because I have to for the Beat Your Challenge tourney.

The high ISO and processing to make it gritty is deliberate. So is the over the top vignette, to add some interest to what is otherwise, lets face it, a pretty boring photo. Both will get panned.

otoh, I do like the shadow and the title and, unlike my other potential entry, this one at least has a gun in it. :-)

Not a low score for me on this one but not a high one either (gave it a 6) I liked how the picture was and layout of it.

I am not sure about the vignettes, I think that is just my style and I prefer them more on portraits than landscape pictures, but I didn't want to ding you for that because I see what you were trying to accomplish. In some photos I think it will make or break a photo in this one it has really has distracted me a lot for some reason.
My favorite photos that I have seen vignettes are the ones that are just faded ever so lightly in and you can barely see them there giving it just a taste that something different is there. I just think it may be too strong of one (for me, you can shoot me if you wanna LOL) But I thought I would make a comment on how I see this one..
