Love this shot. It is amazing how you captured almost all of your subjects' emotions and I am also very jealous of you for having found so many soulful and beatiful subjects.

It is even more mind boggling looking through your challenge history and see how fast you take yourself from an average photo taker to a top notch photographer. Thanks for sharing all the moving images.

Having lived in a poor town in West Africa .... I understand the hidden message behind this photo. It is like the look on the face of a little boy I met in West Africa who was so desperate to know: when and where will the next meal come?

I love this picture. Congratulations.

Superb image!

The only thing that's really nagging me is the little section that's out of focus towards the right.. It just feels like an un-natural blur.

beautiful colors, but i think the blurred nose is a little too distracting... maybe its just because the transition from sharp to blurred is a little abrupt.. it looks good where the cloth on the right side sharply goes from in focus to out of focus (the bottom portion), but the cloth at eye-level also seems to go blurry distractingly...

just my two cents.. :)

You know you have created yourself a style all your own when you can identify the photographer during the challenge simply from the photograph's feel and texture. Like Ansel Adams' images, librodo's images are that distinctive.

What lens did you use for this shot? Did you shoot RAW? What kind of post processing? Did you use a reflector or is it all just window light? Thanks!

(wow! no 1 votes!)

I am so pleased with the results. A week ago I said that my goal in DPChallenge is to get a Blue and an 8. This picture does it for me. Now I can take a rest....for a while.

This shot almost didn't happen. After taking so many pictures of EYES of my three students, Noon, my student in my last period class that day, asked me if I would like to take her picture with the same veil that Megha (another student whom I photographed earlier) used. Just to appease her, I said "why not". So I brought her out of the classroom, and hurriedly took 7 shots...and this was one of them.

Thanks to a very good friend who helped me in the PP. And thanks to Noon, my model.

Those who voted, many many thanks. Now I can concentrate more in my schoolwork since my goal this year has already been achieved.

BUT...if you see pictures of Chinese or China in two weeks, it's from me. I will be going to the Yunnan Province this weekend (and for the entire next week).

Manny

This is a wonderfull photo. To me this is a 10, but there are 2 minor things that could perhaps improve it even more:
*more black background
*removed the orange spot on the right eye (left of the photo)

About the border: I think that this subtle border is fine. Do not believe the border haters.

btw: my guess for the photographer is Kiwiness

WOW
thats pretty much all i have to say,,,, 10 would be my vote if i could vote for this challenge!
this is an amazing image and deffinitely have to say congratulations.... the colours and focus is stunning! for those who comment that there is too much glare within the eyes may be a tad correct by my opinion but i do believe that that also adds an interesting dimension and makes you try to formulate a story to explain it
the left eye however looks a bit strange... like the sunrise past the cloth because of that glare and that might be better removing or reshooting so it is not present and is hidden behind the cloth however there is really not a darned thing i would really want to change... CONGRATS :D

he he. Sampu :)

another trademark masterpiece. there is no disguising a "Librodo". the lighting is impeccable (natural I assume, given the window-shaped catch light in her eyes).

the crop is just enough to emphasize the feature; the title wasn't necessary.

i love it love it love it.
