Greetings from the newest member of the Critique Club!!!

COMPOSITION...The background is simple and undistracting. I like the angle in the corn but perhaps you could have had symmetry work for you by having the corn's "horizon" go from the lower left corner to the upper right corner. The stick of butter, well, I think the shape and form us somewhat unappealing, perhaps if it was more in a state of melting? or if it looked like a pat of butter rather than some random spread...

TECHNICAL... The depth of field is excellent, most of the photo remains really sharp. I especially like the lighting here... Nice highlights in each individual kernal and an even warm lighting across the board.

OPINION... A very well executed photo, which could have been used a little help in framing and shape of the butter :) Good job!

Great lighting and wonderful color. Good DOF also.

It's a lovely well-done photo. The background and colors and composition are quite pleasing. But in terms of improvements, if that butter had been a little bit warmer and melting down into the cracks between the kernels, or maybe if you had used margarine (which I think may be a little bit yellower), I think it would be more appealing. As it is now it's pretty but makes me think of cold corn...

Nice....only thought.... wish the corn was hot....

Excellent. The only way I could like this more was if the corn was hot and the butter was melting. :-)

My 4-year-old daughter is telling me how much better corn is when it has that much butter on it. You've moved her! Very nice shot -- we're both looking forward to getting some fresh corn now :)

Very nice focus and lighting. I would have loved to see some of the butter melting down the sides of the corn. If it isn't hot, you may have been able to drizzle some melted butter before shooting it. Excellent shot.

Great shot. I like tha angle of the corn and the textured feel of the image. The only thing I'd like to see is the butter melting. Would add a bit more realism to the shot. Good job and good luck. Jacko. 9 Oh yeah, nice job on the sharpness.

Nice classic shot, the fact that the butter is not melting is a little bit of a suprise and makes it actually a little less appetizing. cold corn? fake butter? or super-fast camera action?

I don't eat dairy, but I love corn. Nice yellows in this photo, and good lighting.

uumm this makes me hungry! Nice lighting and great composition. Perhaps a different colour border would have been better, casue the black border gets lost in the top half of the picture.

The clarity on this is amazing! I suspect you have a better camera than mine......not to mention higher skill level!

Hummm that looks so good. I do think the light is good but would of been better if the butter was melting some. Hope that's not too picky.....just looks like it's sitting there.

Very well taken photo. I'm not wild about the composition, but without question is a high quality photo. - Inspzil

Great composition and clarity. The simplicity works well, and you haven't overdone it with the lighting.
