Print out the gears, tape to my head, shoot, blend, throw an old-timey filter on it. Done. :)

Since this one may get scrutinized and validation requested, I have done similar things in advanced several times before:

----------------------------------------------

Post-DQ:
Well, while I don't agree that voters were judging a photo of a photo, I knew I was pushing the envelope, but had several precedents (above) that I thought covered me. Oh well, live & learn. :)
Disqualification Details
This image has been disqualified for violating the artwork rule. While past iterations of the artwork rule only required something to be real in the scene, the current version prohibits using photorealistic artwork as the primary impact of an entry. In this case, a photo taken from another website serves as the main subject (the wheels in a wheels challenge), and voters are therefore largely judging a photo of a photo taken by someone else outside the challenge dates.

I'll never get why a picture of a fish "jumping out" of a fishbowl doesn't get DQ'd and you did. I guess I'm too stoopid :))) (and I'm DEFINITELY not the only one who doesn't get it).

I don't check in here often anymore, but the thread caught my eye. I haven't read through it but in my own humble opinion this should not have been DQ'ed. Great idea! I would have done it myself and been very surprised at a DQ.

That's too bad about the DQ Ken. It's still a great shot and a great idea.

Awwww! Such a bummer! I don't think it should have been dq'd either :( What a great photo!

Really I don't agree with the DQ, but then my last DQ was a camera date error where it showed the pix taken two days after the start of the challenge.... I really think they should give leeway for dumb-assness...

I think your cogs need greased! LOL Good edit totally blew me away wondering how you did it in advanced!

That's a bummer! And I don't agree with DQ at all! Without your head it would be a very boring picture with no meaning! :) Why not call it head-wear? There are all sorts of things printed on baseball hats and they would not be DQ'd!

Ahh! Bummer about the DQ. You had me fooled. I actually thought you'd had a craniotomy to show us your inner workings.

WD Art. Love your originality and OOB. Sure as hell beats all those repeat formula winners almost every challenge these days...not saying those are all bad, saying they are getting monotonous.

The imagination to even do something like this is beyond me, but I am not a tattoo person, but I never seen anything like this in my life LOL!
