Yours and Mary's make a nice set! Love that he's looking out of the frame - that's perfect!

do think the soft light from left allows for your crop, with the negative space behind the bird.

Lovely colours.

However delicately colored and dainty, perched in a lovely bit of vegetation, it's the gorgeous background that lifts this image from pretty to sublime.

Stunning bokeh and what a pretty little bird. I can only wish it was facing the other way - not a flip but having the bokeh in front of rather than behind the bird. Still very pretty.

Lovely bokeh and good detail in the bird. Good presentation as the off-center placement works for me, even though it is looking out of the frame rather than the more traditional placement that would have him looking toward the center. Sometimes looking out the near frame just seems right...and this is one of those times IMHO.

Very pretty use of color and shape in the background to mirror and support the subject. I think I'd like it better with the bird on the right looking into the frame. My eye tends to stop at the subject, leaving the empty space mostly wasted. If it were on the right, it would not only lead me to the bird, but also hint at the shapes and colors I'd find there.
